Toyota Motor has plenty of problems with airbag maker Takata and goes for the parts shop at rival Nippon Kayaku. Reported by the sources close to the company on Friday.
Toyota would have asked to increase the production of airbags Nippon, so starting next July 2020 can deliver more than 13 million inflators.
The airbags from Takata can explode during inflation, causing pieces of metal and plastic can fly by the car.
Worldwide, there are eight cases in which the driver thereby died. Car manufacturers have therefore recovered many millions of cars to replace the airbags. The counter of Toyota is now at 12 million vehicles worldwide.
